Aruvikkara dam situated about 16 km north, on the outskirts of Thiruvananthapuram, is responsible for the water supply to the city. The place is also known for an ancient temple believed to have been built in the 16th century known as Aruvikkara Bhagavathy Temple. The temple is located on the banks of the picturesque Karamana River and is known for its serene atmosphere.
