Peppara Wildlife Sanctuary

Peppara is situated 50 km from the city on the way to Ponmudi. The sanctuary here is home to rich mammalian fauna and avifauna and is a big attraction to nature lovers, wildlife enthusiasts and ornithologists. It was established in 1938 over an area of 53 sq km on the Western Ghats. Elephants, sambars, leopards, lion-tailed macaques and cormorants are commonly spotted here. The sanctuary offers trekking options through its verdant landscape that offers a panoramic view of the entire valley.
