Beemapally Dargah Shareef

A Revered Centre of Faith, Harmony, and Devotion

Located along the coastal outskirts of Thiruvananthapuram, Beemapally Dargah Shareef is one of the most respected Islamic pilgrimage centres in Kerala. Revered by people of all faiths, the shrine stands as a symbol of spiritual devotion, communal harmony, and centuries-old cultural traditions.

The dargah is dedicated to Syedunnisa Beema Beevi, a revered Muslim saint believed to have arrived in Kerala from Arabia along with her son, Syed Shuhada Maheen Aboobacker. Known for her piety, wisdom, and compassion, Beema Beevi continues to be honoured by devotees who visit the shrine seeking blessings, peace, and spiritual comfort.

The mosque complex is distinguished by its elegant architecture, featuring a blend of Islamic design and local influences. Its striking white façade, graceful minarets, and peaceful surroundings create an atmosphere of serenity and devotion. Throughout the year, visitors arrive from different parts of Kerala and beyond to offer prayers and pay their respects at this sacred site.

One of the most significant events associated with the dargah is the annual Beemapally Uroos, a vibrant festival that attracts thousands of pilgrims and visitors. The celebration is marked by special prayers, cultural programmes, traditional rituals, and the famous Chandanakudam offering, during which devotees carry earthen pots filled with sandalwood paste as an expression of faith and gratitude. The festival beautifully reflects Kerala's spirit of inclusiveness and religious harmony.

Beyond its religious significance, Beemapally is also admired for its coastal setting. The shrine is located close to the Arabian Sea, offering visitors an opportunity to experience both spiritual reflection and the tranquil beauty of Kerala's coastline.

For guests of Sagara Beach Resort, a visit to Beemapally Dargah Shareef provides an enriching cultural and spiritual experience.
